Sewing Machine Quick-start (11/3)this class will consist of 2 nights If you’ve never used a sewing machine before or maybe it’s been years since your Home Economics/FACs class but you want to use a sewing machine before deciding on committing to longer classes. After our 2-2 hour classes, you’ll learn how to thread it and sew a straight line. We will then teach techniques for machine handling that be frustrating to figure out on your own. During the process of getting comfortable with the sewing machine, you will also create a tote bag to prove you can sew. This is class is for 16 yrs and older.
Registration is through Forest Lake Area Schools:

(NOTE-Students are welcome to bring your own sewing machine or one can be provided for you. Fabric for the class project included, however, if you should prefer to choose your own fabric yardage requirement are included below)

  • sharp scissors
  • seam ripper
  •  flexible tape measure
  • 1 yard of home decor weight fabric or heavy, tightly woven cotton (if you want contrasting ties and pocket; you can purchase 1/2 yd of contrasting fabric)
  • spool of matching thread (there will be top-stitching)
